Qiao Shu Chair
Qiao Shu Chair A bouncy, breathable bamboo chair - lay down your burdens and enjoy the comfort of inversion. The scene of a bamboo forest fight in “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” directed by Ang Lee amazed the world. The aesthetics of bamboo are being recognized, appreciated, and explored by more and more people. In Eastern countries, bamboo is an indispensable role in life. Our ancestors discovered the characteristics of bamboo and created a pole to lighten the burden on their shoulders.
Inspired by this old wisdom, “a flexible bamboo chair was born”. Using the high tensile and elastic properties of Taiwanese Moso bamboo, we designed the “Qiao Shu Chair” composed of four layers of bamboo strips for the surface and back. As soon as you sit down, you can feel the rebound force. The “gaps between the bamboo strips” are breathable and not stuffy, allowing users to experience the lightness and comfort of floating.
Puyuan Art Workshop was established in 1985. With rich production experience, it combines modern and traditional woodworking techniques. The lacquer surface uses waterproof, environmentally friendly, and non-toxic paint. The complicated multi-layer process presents the most natural bamboo pattern and warm touch. A chair not only makes you feel comfortable but also lets you see the exquisite aesthetics of Taiwanese bamboo craftsmanship.
